Cold calling America, taught properly.
You are the first human contact a US practice has with Velant. You build your own target lists, call owners and practice managers, open real conversations and book demos — trained on NEPQ by the founders, five nights a week, from anywhere in Sri Lanka.
What Velant is
Velant is an AI platform for US healthcare practices, built for mental health and addiction treatment centers and clinics. One HIPAA-compliant system does the work of the four or five separate tools a center or a clinic runs today: CRM and lead tracking, the medical records (EHR), phone, SMS and a shared inbox, AI agents that answer calls and book patients around the clock, e-prescribing, telehealth, insurance eligibility and claims.
We sell it to the people who own those practices, usually 5 to 50 clinicians, billing insurance, somewhere in the United States. They are losing leads they already paid for and their staff is buried in admin. Our job is to reach them before anyone else does.
How we work
- Small team, no layers. The founders are in the room. You talk to them every week and nobody stands between you and a decision.
- Extremely fast-paced. We ship in days, not quarters. When a customer asks for something sensible it gets built, that is what we sell on, and we keep it.
- No BS. Numbers are visible, bad weeks get discussed honestly, and feedback is direct. Nobody here dresses up a bad night.
- We ask, we don't hype. Our buyers have been pitched by every vendor in the market. We win by asking better questions than the competition, not by talking louder. “I don't know, let me find out” is a perfectly good answer here.
The role
You are the first human contact a US practice has with Velant. With the help of the resources we provide, you build your own target lists, cold call owners and practice managers, open real conversations and book demos.
You follow up by SMS and email, keep your pipeline clean in the CRM, and sit in on the demos you book. As you get good, you run those demos yourself and close your own deals.
What this gives you
- US B2B sales experience before you graduate. Most people here finish a degree without ever speaking to an American customer. You will do it five nights a week, and it stays on your CV for the rest of your career.
- A skill that pays anywhere. Cold calling, discovery, objection handling and closing are the most transferable skills in business, and almost nobody teaches them properly.
- Uncapped earnings in US dollars. A fixed base, plus commission on everything you close, with no ceiling on it.
- Direct access to the founders. You are coached by the people running the company, not by a team leader reading from a manual.
- A real path. Top performers move into a full-time role with a bigger patch, and into leadership as we grow. For exceptional people who build a long-term future with us we are open to exploring US visa sponsorship — not a promise, and it depends on US immigration rules, but it is real for the right person.
- University credit. We sign your training logbooks and complete your evaluations so this can count toward your degree, subject to your university's approval, and you finish with a recommendation letter from the founders.
The training
We are not going to hand you a script and wish you luck. You get full NEPQ training: Neuro-Emotional Persuasion Questioning, the method our entire sales motion runs on. The idea is simple and hard: you talk less, you ask better questions, and the prospect works out their own problem out loud instead of you telling them they have one. Anyone can memorise a pitch. NEPQ is what makes a stranger keep talking to you.
- The question stages: connecting, situation, problem awareness, solution awareness, consequence, qualifying, commitment, and which one belongs where in a call
- Tonality. Curious and calm beats enthusiastic and pushy every time, and it is trainable.
- Objections handled by clarifying, not arguing. “We already have a system” is not a no.
- Our own library: the question bank built for behavioral health practice owners, and the objection playbook covering what a clinic owner actually says to a stranger on the phone
- Role-play until you can hold the line with one of us pushing back. You do not dial a live prospect before that.
- Weekly reviews of your own call recordings with the founders. This is the part that makes people good, and it never stops.
What we provide
Everything the job needs: our CRM and dialer — the same platform you are selling, which you also call from — a US number, prospecting data and target lists, the full script set, question bank and objection playbook, your own demo environment, and the founders on standby to join a live call when a prospect wants depth you do not have yet.
What it pays
A fixed monthly base, plus the same commission plan our US reps are on. No cap.
- 10% of commissionable contract value on deals 1–10 in a month
- 15% on deals 11–20
- 25% on deal 21 and beyond
- The counter resets on the 1st. Paid in US dollars on the 15th of the following month, with a statement showing every deal and the math behind it.
- One real number: a practice signing an annual contract at $299 a month is $3,588 of commissionable value — $358.80 to you at the entry tier, $897 at the top one. That is one deal. Do that math in rupees.
Straight with you: commission is earned when the customer signs, and part of it comes back if that customer cancels in the first few months. You get the full plan in writing, and we go through the base on the first call.
The English bar
We will hear you before we read you. You need to be understood by a busy American the first time you say something, on a phone line, while they are distracted: clear pronunciation, steady pace, and the nerve to keep going when someone pushes back. You need to listen harder than you talk, because that is the whole method.
You do not need a fake accent. Nobody is asking you to sound American. Your written English matters too, because you send your own follow-ups.
The hours
Our customers are American, so you work when they do. The calling window is 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM US Central, 7:30 PM to 4:30 AM in Sri Lanka, moving an hour later when US clocks change on 1 November. You work a four to five hour block inside it, five nights a week, and we fix your block around your lectures.
Who we are taking
We are hiring a small number of people and putting months of training into each one, so the bar is high.
- An undergraduate at any Sri Lankan university, in any degree
- Excellent spoken English, the kind that survives a bad line and an impatient stranger
- Available for the full six months, five nights a week, inside the US Central window
- A quiet room, a laptop, a headset, and internet that does not drop mid-call
- You can be told no forty times in a night and dial again at forty-one
- You want to be coached hard, and you act on what you hear
- A plus, not a requirement: BPO, tele-sales or help desk experience, debating, Model UN, drama, Toastmasters
Don't apply if you want a quiet desk job, you go silent when someone challenges you, or you cannot commit to the night window.
How to apply
Hit Apply Now. Our application is not a form — it's a sales floor. You'll leave a voicemail, open a call, handle a real objection, run the commission math and decide what you'd do when a prospect squeezes you on price. Budget about 45 minutes, and have your CV (PDF) ready.
AI tools are allowed. We'll ask where you used them. Hiding it is the only wrong answer.
The process: a short intro call, a live role-play with the founders where you sell us, then onboarding and training before you dial a single live prospect.
